What your Tongue Says About your spiritual Health

But what comes out from the mouth proceeds from the heart, and this defiles a person. (Matt. 15:18) Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile. (Psalms 34:13)

We should learn to bridle the Tongue. A White House aide dismisses Sen. John McCain’s contribution to a crucial CIA nomination by saying, “It doesn’t matter, and he’s dying anyway”. Mr. McCain, 81, is in Arizona battling brain Cancer.

The thing with words is ones they are spoken you can’t take them back. If a bad word spoken to another is a slip of the tongue, it will be different from a bad word coming from the heart. The problem is it may be difficult for people to know where it is coming from. It is therefore better to learn how to bridle the tongue. Have you not heard that out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks?  It is a good thing the aide who made the comment has apologized to the family; however the Press and some US leaders believe that is not enough. They think that the White House should apologize to the public to clean up the bad aura.  But it is easier to detest in public than to confess in public. However, when humility takes hold of pride this shouldn’t be a problem.

This outrageous comment against Senator McCain by the aide has made headlines for several days in different News Media. The remark reflects the despicable nature of the society we live in. The world has become a one big society caused in part by technology which has made it difficult to prevent the osmosis of bad behavior. The pollution is on the rise and it is causing a social earth quake.  It is ridiculous what people copy today as good habit and what people make today as good Joke. Last time it was the beheading of a president and today it is an America Hero suffering from brain Cancer being made fun of. When will all these end? There are people dying because of sin and it is unfortunate they don’t know it. Brain Cancer is not a death sentence for any man who believes in the Lord Jesus. Meghan McCain the daughter of John McCain responded to the comments in high spirit, saying that people are going to answer for their own conscience and the controversy had a silver lining.

I have been reading senator McCain’s judgments on US policies, although I have no political leanings. He seems to advocate for what is good for his people in his deepest sincerity irrespective of gaining or losing popularity within the party.  He seems to me to be a pivot to bipartisanship and wants nothing to do with bigotry. Senator McCain was a US pilot whose plane was shot down during a War. He has experienced some bad things he doesn’t want to see them happen again.

There are concerns within the administration how such a statement was leaked.  But the concern should be why such a statement was made. It seems to people the victim is the leaker and not the speaker and firing the speaker too won’t solve the problem. There have been significant achievements made by the Trump’s administration as I read the comments from the American people. It is obvious that some will take advantage of such a remark from the aide to gain political leverage. They will say, “Dead flies can make a whole bottle of perfume stink even as a little folly can cancel the greatest wisdom” to make the whole administration look bad.  However, it shouldn’t be a political issue but a sentimental one to make a journey for repentance.  Please, keep Senator McCain in your Prayers after this terrible remark about his wealth for strength.
